LOS ALTOS, Calif., March 27, 2006
– Provigent Inc., a leading provider of system-on-a-chip (SoC)
solutions for broadband wireless transmission, announced today
that its customer base has now passed 30 – including many
top-tier companies – as a growing number of system vendors
incorporate Provigent’s PVG310 single-chip modem in their
point-to-point radio systems.

“We are very pleased with the
rollout pace of point-to-point systems designed with the PVG310,
as additional customers reach serial production and deploy these
systems worldwide,” said Eli Leizerovitz, Provigent’s vice
president, sales and business development. “Being a
software-programmable, flexible solution, the PVG310 provides an
excellent basis for system vendors to leverage the benefits of
an off-the-shelf solution and create a broad variety of unique
designs with differentiating features.”
The PVG310 has been designed into PDH,
SDH and IP traffic systems and, more recently, into systems that
support mixed TDM and IP traffic. This is being achieved by
Provigent’s new ProviBandTM
technology, which enables differential services with multiple
CoA (classes of availability) over wireless backhaul links,
thereby efficiently provisioning the available payload bandwidth
by implementing ACM (adaptive code and modulation).
Provigent’s PVG310 is a highly
integrated single-chip modem specifically optimized for
point-to-point radio systems. It incorporates state-of-the-art
modulation, demodulation and FEC (forward error correction)
functions and supports a net payload of up to 311Mbps (2xSTM-1)
and 622Mbps (STM-4) using XPIC
technology.
