Provigent Scores 19th Design Win as Merchant Silicon Provider to the Point-to-Point Radio Market

Leading System Vendors are Adopting Provigent's New PVG310 Single-Chip Modem Solution

LOS ALTOS, Calif., February 7, 2005 -- Provigent Inc., a leading provider of system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions for broadband wireless transmission, announced today that it has scored its 19th design win.  Provigent's customers include leading vendors of point-to-point radio systems in North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific.

 

Products represented in the design wins include Provigent's recently introduced PVG310, a single-chip modem now generally available and fully qualified.  Serial quantities have been shipped to customers worldwide, and point-to-point radio systems based on the PVG310 have already been deployed.  The PVG310 is designed into a broad variety of PDH, SDH and IP systems – in all commonly-used data rates and frequency bands, both licensed and licensed-exempt – for use in cellular backhaul infrastructure, fixed wireless-transmission networks, and private networks in government, enterprise, utility, and other market sectors.

Provigent's PVG310 is a highly integrated single-chip modem that was specifically optimized for point-to-point radio systems.  It incorporates state-of-the-art modulation, demodulation and FEC (forward error correction) functions.  A highly flexible chip, the PVG310 supports a net payload of up to 311Mbps (2xSTM-1) and 622Mbps (STM-4) using XPIC (cross-polarization interface cancellation) technology.
