Market

Provigent targets the broadband wireless market, an inseparable part of the overall communications infrastructure industry. Broadband wireless systems present operators, service providers, and organizations with an independent, reliable, flexible, costeffective, high-capacity infrastructure that is quickly deployed and up-scaled. There are four major segments to this market – cellular backhaul infrastructure, fixed wireless transmission, broadband wireless access, and private wireless networks – all of them can benefit from Provigent solutions.

Solutions

Provigent has developed the PVG310, a complete state-of-the-art single chip modem that integrates all the physical-layer baseband functionality – modulation, demodulation and forward error correction – for point-to-point broadband wireless transmission. Advanced features include an adaptive equalizer, I/Q imbalance correction and configurable concatenated coding mechanisms, which improve performance and reduce overall system cost. All functions are implemented digitally, eliminating the need for external voltage controlled oscillators and loop filters. Modem parameters – including data rates, modulation schemes and bandwidth – are all software programmable, making the PVG310 the core of a broad variety of SDH, PDH and IP traffic for both in-door unit and out-door unit systems.
The Provigent PVG310 gives system vendors a single-modem platform with high spectral efficiency, using XPIC mode and an adaptive modulation mechanism. High bit rate of 622Mbps, for applications such as Gigabit Ethernet and STM-4, are supported.
The level of integration and flexibility makes the PVG310 an ideal solution for licensed and unlicensed bands using either Frequency Domain Duplexing (FDD) or Time Domain Duplexing (TDD)

Privately owned, Provigent has received strategic financing from prominent venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital, Pitango Venture, Globespan Capital, Capital, Magnum Communications Fund, Ascend Technology Ventures and Delta Ventures.
